Fatebook: Preview Show @ the Arts Bank

Fatebook. It’s a production so layered, it requires a night of introduction. And you can be a part of it.

Ahead of the debut of Fatebook, which is being billed as a theatrical spectacle that takes place in cyberspace and realspace, Director Whit MacLaughlin and acting troupe New Paradise Laboratories are hosting a preview event on Wednesday, July 8 at the Arts Bank at Broad and South streets.

The preview event for the Live Arts Festival will offer attendees the chance to co-mingle with the production’s 13 central characters and 100 secondary characters. The characters will introduce competing ideas of presence and begin a story intertwining itself around reality and the Web. Those who attend the preview event can join in the production, by requesting a fatebooktheshow.com email address. That will lead into a late July event which, in some way, leads up to the final performance in the fall.

At the Festival show in September, audiences will trail individual characters at will. The action will take place within a labyrinth of screens displaying the shifting cityscapes and intimate spaces in which the characters live. Find out more here.
