LOL: City of Nutterly Love

I like being in the know. YOU like being in the know. (That’s why you’re reading Uwishunu.) My favorite way to feel in the loop? Inside jokes that I get, and that other people don’t. I present to you: City of Nutterly Love, an inside joke between the City of Philadelphia and itself.
This July, revel in hilarity (and feel super cool doing so) as the city we know and love is poked, prodded and examined all over by very funny Chicago comedy troupe The Second City.
They’re joining forces with the Philadelphia Theatre Company (and a talented cast of local actors) to lambaste everything that Philadelphians hold near and dear…in a way that moves past cheese steak and Eagles jokes (not that we don’t love the occasional cheese steak and Eagles joke. Speaking of which….how do you keep an Eagle out of your back yard? Put up a goal post!)
The show includes short sketches, songs, improvisations, and more – think Saturday Night Live, slathered in cheese whiz, stuffed in a Tasty Cake, and conked over the head a few times by the Liberty Bell. Totally Philly-rific. I can’t wait!
City of Nutterly Love, July 8 through August 2 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre
480 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102
