Bathrobed bowlers everywhere owe the Dude for explaining their lazy behavior—or at least giving them cultural significance. Because bowling is the perfect sport for the laziest among us. You can eat, drink and smoke while on the bench. But it does make you wonder what it would have taken for the Dude to really put his mind to work instead of pouring another White Russian and lighting a smoke. What if Donnie was dying of cancer instead of a heart attack? Would it be Dude to the rescue?

Not leaving it up to the Dude to decide, the organizers of The Dude Hates Cancer! are far from bathrobe-clad Kaluah-swiggers. This fourth installment of their bowling fundraiser (benefiting the do-gooders at the Leukemia-Lymphoma society) departs from their usual Manayunk establishment of years past and swings over to Northern Liberties with the help of North Bowl and Johnny Brenda’s.

With raffle prizes donated from the Dude himself, Jeff Bridges and music from Black Landlord, Chris Kasper & Jeremy Hollis at the Johnny Brendas after-party, this is going to be a party not even Jackie Treehorn can match. The Dude Abides!
