Turnstyle: Art & Music in West Philadelphia

If you head into West Philadelphia this weekend and visit the Bodyrock Gym, you’re in for a real treat. This Saturday is the launch of a new art and music series called Turnstyle, an event that plans to bring in an ever changing roster of artists and musicians. Art exhibits, live shows, drinks, music… sounds like a good time to me!
The first Turnstyle kicks off with a ‘Strength & Bodies’ theme, which is appropriate since it’ll be taking place at Bodyrock Bootcamp & Executive Training, a gym on 38th and Lancaster Avenue. Featured artists include muralists, videographers, photographers, and more, with a special performance by Nervous Rex and DJ Gerrone. Some of the exhibiting artists include Ted Adams, Robert Bush, Christine Foster, Kelly Ireland, Bill Kelly, Austin Lee, Meredith Edlow, Tony Ward, and many, many more.
And hey, since you’re in the area, stop by the Lancaster Avenue Jazz Festival in Saunders Park. Running from noon til 7PM, there will be free performances, activities for kids, an open mic, jam sessions, and more. Spend the day in West Philly, and get a little bit of everything.
