Video: Mural Tours @ Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens
It’s hard not to notice The Magic Gardens on South Street, the stunning structure covered in colored glass, mirrors, and found objects. Isaiah Zagar’s beautiful mosaics are known world wide, and continue to reach a larger audience thanks the recent documentary, In A Dream.
Recently, the Magic Gardens have begun offering mural tours, taking visitors on a walk to learn the stories behind Isaiah’s murals, as well as the history of the South Street neighborhood. Tours are $6 for adults, and as you can see from the video, it’s a sweet deal.
If you pay a visit to the Magic Gardens’ official website, you can learn more about the history of the gardens, Isaiah’s life, and people involved with preserving this South St masterpiece. The Magic Gardens on South Street can certainly be considered his magnum opus, and are definitely worth visiting.
Enjoy!

I thank my lucky stars that I live in a neighborhood ornamented by Isaiah’s soul-stirring work. He’s a true gentleman and his gift to Philadelphia has made living here all the more beautiful.
