This week’s Center City Sips spotlight shines brightly on Tavern 17, the contemporary American restaurant and bar nestled inside the Radisson-Plaza Warwick Hotel.

Tavern 17 is a favorite amongst the uwishunu/gophila.com staff because 1) it’s close to the office, 2) the happy hours are both tasty and light on the wallet, and 3) many of us saw the Phillies triumph at various points in the 2008 postseason while saddled up to the Tavern 17 bar. We love it for sentimental, financial and gustatory reasons — which, of course, are all the reasons you need to love a bar.

Tonight from 5–7 p.m., you can get a taste of what makes Tavern 17 great. Here’s their Sips lineup:

Drinks:
- Beer ($2): Miller Lite
- Wine ($3): Pinot grigio and cabernet sauvignon
- Cocktails ($4): Regular margaritas, white cosmos

Food:
- Vegetable quesadillas ($4)
- Buffalo wings ($5)
- Sweet potato frites ($4)
