Next weekend, the Obamas are scheduled to visit four national parks, including Yellowstone and Grand Canyon.
This past weekend, however, Michelle Obama and their two daughters began their national park excursion with a visit to Philadelphia and our very own national park: Independence National Historical Park.
The First Lady brought daughters Sasha and Malia to Philadelphia this past Saturday.
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, they visited the Betsy Ross House, Independence Hall and Carpenters Hall. We’re also hearing that they visited the Liberty Bell and the Magic Gardens.
Afterward, they went for gelato at Capogiro.
This is very cool news. It’s also a great idea for a summer afternoon outing. (That’s what uwishunu is here for…)
We hope they had a great time. And that they come back for another visit soon!
Meanwhile, if you’re thinking about making a similar trip, be sure to check out our spotlight on the Betsy Ross House.
