You may or may not be aware that there’s a new movie coming out this fall based on Maurice Sendak’s beloved book, Where The Wild Things Are.
Which is cool not only because the movie is supposed to be very good (trailer after the jump) but also because The Rosenbach Museum & Library on Delancey Street here in Center City holds more than 10,000 works on deposit from the book’s author and illustrator, one Maurice Sendak. Including all of the original drawings for ‘Where The Wild Things Are.’
Warner Bros. just released a new promotional featurette for the movie with Maurice Sendak talking about how excited he is for the film and how happy he is with the direction that Spike Jonze took the film.
After watching the clip, find some time to head over to The Rosenbach Museum & Library to see some of the original artwork and inspiration behind the iconic story.
The movie’s trailer is pretty amazing too, complete with a specially recorded version of ‘Wake Up’ by Arcade Fire. Watch the trailer after the jump.
