Foster’s Homeware Headed for New Location

Exterior of the Market Street store (photo by A. Jaszek)
Two years ago, Ken Foster shuttered his Reading Terminal Market cookware store and his Old City homewares store and brought all his inventory together under a single roof at 399 Market Street. The new store was spacious, appealingly modern and had a fantastic kitchen in the back (I should know, I’ve cooked many a demo meal there).
Unfortunately, for all the things this new Foster’s location had right, it has proven to be a hair too much off the beaten path to keep up with the current economic climate. Ken and his team are currently packing up the store, and will be moving it to a new location at 33 N. 3rd Street.
The 399 Market Street location is open now until October 24th, and they are currently offering much of their inventory (anything that’s not making the move) at 50% off. The new location will open on November 1st, better than ever. They will still offer hip furnishings, fab cookware and plenty of cooking classes, so mark your calendars for their grand opening and breathe a sigh of relief that Philadelphia isn’t losing this jewel of a store entirely.

Foster’s is an amazing store and will look even more amazing at the new 3rd Street location. The block is buzzing about our new addition and everyone can’t wait to see what Ken Foster and his team will re-create on Third Street!
