On Friday, October 9, the dough will fly once again. In honor of National Pretzel Month, some of the Philadelphia region’s top pretzel makers will once again come together in hopes of claiming the title of the city’s best doughy delight at the fifth annual “Battle of the Soft Pretzels.” The event will take place at the Independence Visitor Center from 12 – 2 pm.

Visitors will have a taste of Philly’s favorite treat and get a chance to assist in the decision-making regarding this year’s winners. Awards will be presented in three categories: Best Traditional Soft Pretzel, Best Pretzel Topping, and Most Interesting Shape.

The event gives you a chance to celebrate the famous Philadelphia treat while being wooed by the top pretzel-making talent in the region.

And yes, samples of the competing pretzels will be available at the Independence Visitor Center for both visitors and locals.
