Saturday: Matt Haimovitz @ the Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio

Tomorrow, October 17th, Israeli-born cellist Matt Haimovitz will be performing pieces from his recent album Figment, at the Innovation Studio inside the Kimmel Center.
Matt made his debut with the Isreal Philharmonic Orchestra… at age 13. He gave all this up to tour smaller, intimate places; bars, clubs, coffee shops, in his attempt to bring classical music to the everyman. The Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio is the perfect kind of intimate setting, and he takes the stage at 7:30PM.
Want a peek at his skills? Check him out playing Jimi Hendrix’s “Star-Spangled Banner” on YouTube, and prepare to be impressed.
Tickets are only $10. For more info, visit the Kimmel Center’s official website, where you can purchase tickets and listen to clips of Haimovitz performing.
