Recently, Philadelphia’s Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announced two family-friendly holiday performances, which are set to take over the weekend of December 12th; an Irish Christmas in America and A Creole Christmas.

Irish Christmas in America, originally created in 2005 as a way to share traditional (and unknown) Irish holiday customs, quickly grew into a larger scale performance, featuring Irish dancing, ballads, holiday carols, sing-alongs, and more. Each song and dance is accompanied by narration, photographs, and visuals, detailing the rich history behind each performance to the audience.

Then come December 12th, the Preservation Hall Jazz band performs holiday hits with a New Orleans twist, with ragtime and jazz influences on classic songs. This is the first time since 2005 that the Grammy award winning ensemble is taking their holiday performance on the road, and they haven’t visited the Annenberg Center since 2003. Tickets for both concerts range from $20 to $45, and are currently on sale via the Annenberg’s official website.
