First Friday! It’s tomorrow! I’ve got a nice round up scheduled for later on today, but this particular event, hosted by our friends Art in the Age, is definitely worth highlighting.

Tomorrow night, Art in the Age will open their latest exhibition, featuring new works from Beth Beverly and Ole Bye. Beverly is a local artist and taxidermist who creates sculptures using mounted animals and found objects. Blending materials like pearls and jewelery with the furs and feathers of animals… well, you have to see it to appreciate it. Check out her official website.

Old Bye is traveling up from West Virginia, and known for his work inspired by his homestate’s local coalfields. He recreates landscapes within the confines of glass bottles. Check out some of his works here.

Art in the Age will, of course, be serving their ROOT cocktails (which are delicious, I might add). It’s a First Friday event not to miss.
