It is tradition in my family to watch White Christmas at least once during the holiday season, and it always gives me the warm fuzzies. This year, I’ll be lucky enough to catch the show at the Kimmel Center.

The Broadway Series at the Academy of Music is featuring Irving Berlin’s White Christmas through December 6th. Because it’s only in Philly for a limited time, get your tickets now so you can start the holidays off right!

With lots of singing and dancing (tap, ballroom, jazz), you’ll be sure to enjoy White Christmas even if you’ve never seen the Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye version. The theatrical show has some of the same tunes and dances as the famed film, but it incorporates more of Berlin’s music like “How Deep is the Ocean,” “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm,” and “I Love a Piano.” Though not all of Berlin’s tunes were written for White Christmas, they seem to fit perfectly with the narrative.

Of course, you will hear the many renditions of Berlin’s “White Christmas” throughout the show – and I am truly dreaming of one.
