Goldmine Unlimited in Manayunk

Fun nostalgia is the prevailing theme of this treasure-chest of a shop in Manayunk. Owned and operated by artist and collector of interesting things, Bo Lee, the store has the power to send people of all ages and walks of life into fits of nostalgia.

Funky eyeglasses, action figures, cameras, musical instruments, bicycles, books, jewelry, records, designer furniture and lighting, 70’s optical toys, sparkling toy pistols, and screen printed tees are just a few things you might find there. It’s no coincidence that the store mascot is a three-legged dog named Gizmo.

Bo Lee also considers Goldmine an ongoing social art project and has converted the back of the store into a micro gallery and reading room. The current exhibit features the works of local illustrators Reau, Tim Durning, and Stephanie Struse until February 10th, 2010.
