Explore the Delicious History of Chocolate @ Stenton in Historic Germantown

The historic Stenton mansion
This Friday, the Stenton mansion in Germantown invites visitors to learn about the history of William Penn’s favorite dessert. Chocolate.
Food historian Susan McLellan Plaisted will explain the origins of chocolate, from its use by the Mayans and Aztecs, to its arrival in America with European colonization. Susan has travel all over the world researching chocolate, and knows how to prepare chocolate liquor and cakes from 17th and 18th century recipes. Neat!
Admission to the lecture (and the house) is free. For more information on the historic house, visit the mansion’s official website.
