Love Day Sunday: Valentine’s Dinner at Hawthornes

Hawthornes, full of growlers

Don't forget to bring your growler!

It’s the age-old Valentine’s Day dilemma. She wants an elegant, 3-course meal capped off by something chocolate. You just want to kick back and drink a beer. Thanks to Hawthornes, now there’s a Valentine’s date that everyone can get behind. This year the new Bella Vista beer cafe will be featuring a 3-course, 4-beer prix fixe dining experience sure to win over that special someone.

Having carefully chosen each of the paired beers, owners Heather Annechiarico and Chris Fetfatzes, of Bella Vista Beer Distributors and beer-judging fame, have put together a truly special menu. My own picks? The mesculin orange and fennel salad, butter braised halibut with pork belly hash, and chocolate peanut butter mousse cake with chocolate ganache. Or maybe the wild mushroom and asparagus risotto for that second course. Whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed by your last beverage of the evening, an aged chocolate stout made with 1,000 pounds of Godiva Southern Tier Chocolate.

So if you have yet to check out the new beer boutique, now’s your chance! They’ll be keeping the doors open late just for this event, and reservations are filling up fast.
