Join Metropolitan Bakery’s Bread of the Month Club

If I were to move away* from Philadelphia, there are a number of things I’d miss. The ease of navigating our on-a-grid Center City. The sense history that permeates every block. And the pain au levain from Metropolitan Bakery. There’s no way to take the first two with me, but now, thanks to their new website and Bread of the Month Club, I can get a Metropolitan fix no matter where in the country I am.
The Bread of the Month Club is particularly fantastic for those former Philadelphians who long for the taste of that slow rise, freshly baked bread. The subscriptions are available in either three, six or twelve month and start at $70. They are sent mid-month via overnight mail and would be just the thing for the Metropolitan Bakery lover who lives far away.
Other new features on the new Metropolitan website include a featured recipe (if you want to try your hand at some of those gorgeous muffins and treats), video baking tutorials and a new electronic newsletter.
*Happily, I have no plans to leave.

totally shocked says:
Really? $70 for 3 loaves of bread.
Somehow I doubt getting an overnight package with a loaf of bread can be any comparison to walking to your corner baker and buying a hot loaf of bread.
Too bad corner bakeries are so rare.
