It is a sad fact that the majority of Easter candy out there is miserable. The mainstream offerings these days runs to waxy chocolate-y bunnies, gritty peanut butter fillings and sad, pebbly jelly beans. However, thanks to Philly’s own John & Kira’s Chocolates, you can now replace these wan treats with real, artisan chocolates designed with the holiday in mind.
Fill this year’s Easter basket with dark chocolate bunnies, hand-painted mini easter eggs and pastel-colored caramel chocolate bees (a John & Kira’s favorite). If you’re feeling particularly flush, you can even buy a whole basket of John & Kira’s treats. Right now, they’re offering a coupon code that will get you 10% off on all their Easter treats. Just enter in the code EASTER10 when you’re checking out.

Kids love the Please Touch Museum for its many exhibits and play areas geared just towards them. Parents love it because it keeps their little ones happy for hours. And adults-sans-kidlets love it because it helped preserve and restore the last remaining structure from the 1876 Centennial Exhibition.
However, for those of us without rugrats, since the Please Touch took up residence, it has been unseemly (and maybe even a little bit creepy) to pay a visit to Memorial Hall without children in tow. Happily, the museum has developed a tour just for the historically and architecturally inclined. Called the Centennial Grown-Up Tour, it can be taken at 2 p.m. as a guided tour, or between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the self-guided version.
Regularly, these tours cost $12 (self-guided) and $15 (guide-led). However, they’re being featured in this week’s edition of the Funsavers. Next Tuesday (March 30) and Thursday (April 1), you can experience these tours for half price. Just use the promotional code Fun. Click here for more information and links to the Please Touch Museum.

The Bar @ Cafe Spice
If you want to spice up your lunch or dinner, you need to check out Cafe Spice on 2nd Street in Philadelphia. Cafe Spice features authentic Indian cuisine with some flair. The second you walk in the door you are greeted with bright, welcoming colors throughout the entire restaurant. Once surrounded by the vibrant orange, red and yellow colors, you immediately crave curry and naan.
With a variety of chicken, lamb, seafood, vegetarian or other entrees from the tandoor, there is something sweet or spicy for everyone. You can sit outside and enjoy a lovely evening, or have a romantic meal in one of Cafe Spice’s secluded booths. I suggest stopping by Friday nights for dinner and drinks, where you can also enjoy live Indian music while you dine.

Warm lighting in Cafe Spice
Cafe Spice offers two course meals from their regular menu plus a glass of wine for $22 per person on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. “Wine Down” Wednesdays offers a three course meal for $45 per couple and along with 1/2 price bottles from the wine list. Happy hour specials are offered daily.
