Bloomsday isn’t the only festival the Rosenbach Museum & Library host each year. Next week, the museum celebrates famed author and illustrator Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are) with the Sendak in the Spring Festival.
This annual festival runs all weekend, from Saturday, March 20th to Sunday, March 21st, and features everything from storytelling, to crafts, to a live performance of Wild Things Whiligig, an interactive children’s musical that explores Sendak’s characters.
I’ve posted some of the Spring Festival schedule after the jump. Have a look, check out the museum’s official website for event updates, and come celebrate Spring with the Rosenbach.

Rosenbach staffers will teach creative activities like feathered hat-making and more, and the museum will feature a Snack, Beanbag and Book Room for kids to unwind and refuel.
Wild Things Whirligig Performances
1pm and 3pm, Free ticket required with museum admission
Go wild at the Rosenbach with a dynamic, interactive performance inspired by the wonderful work of Maurice Sendak. Created by Karen Saillant, Artistic Director of the International Opera Theater, this musical performed by and for children weaves together classic Sendak characters with figures who have inspired the author, such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Seating is limited for the performances. To ensure seats, tickets may be reserved in advance (in person only) at the Rosenbach beginning on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Tickets will also be available on event days. Performances last approximately 45 minutes.
