Zoubi – A Food Store Opens in New Hope

I am a sucker for charming, gourmet grocery stores. I love the neat displays of exotic olive oils and sample trays (particularly if they contain crumbled brownies or slivers of almond pastries). Philadelphia is wealthy in stores such as this, from the Di Bruno Brothers empire to the Bacchus Market at the corner of 23rd and Spruce.
As of Wednesday, the Philadelphia region picked up another player in the gourmet market game. Zoubi – A Food Store (yes, that’s the full name) opened in New Hope, PA. They’ll be offering an array of prepared foods that focus on Mediterranean and European flavors, as well as gourmet groceries and freshly baked cakes and pastries.

Next time you head for New Hope for the afternoon, consider stopping at Zoubi for a snack (or something more substantial). You’ll find it at 29-31 West Mechanic Street. For updates on their menu and other specials, fan their Facebook page.
