Dad Vail Regatta Starts Today

The Dad Vail Regatta runs today and tomorrow (May 7 + 8) on the Schuylkill River. Thought to be the largest collegiate regatta in the country, this is its 72nd year running. It’s been held in Philadelphia for a large portion of those years (there was a brief period earlier this year where it appeared that the regatta was going to leave the city, but happily, it’s been secured for the indefinite future).
The race does close down portions of Kelly Drive, so be prepared for detours or plan to take a different route if a drive takes you in that direction this weekend. There are more than ten Philadelphia-area schools participating in the regatta, so consider heading out and cheering for some of our own!
