Dinner @ Positano Coast in Old City

The Dining Room @ Positano Coast
As a self-proclaimed foodie, discovering restaurants that have been around for years brings with it a mixed bag of emotions. On the one hand, it’s like any first date, filled with nervous anticipation and excitation. On the other hand, I have to wonder why I’ve never been before. Do I need to work on my culinary investigation skills?
After feasting on Positano Coast’s wonderful dinner menu recently, I can honestly say that clearly I have not been doing my homework.

Lounge @ Positano Coast
Located in Old City on 2nd and Walnut, (just across from Zahav and the Ritz Five Theatre), Positano Coast may elude the eye due to its second floor location. However, with its unmatched Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and interior design, that’s no excuse.
The menu includes a variety of delicious dishes, such as the Grilled Octopus appetizer, as well more than a dozen new plates, like the Antipasto Italiano and the Baked Cannelloni entree, stuffed with ricotta, spinach, ground rib-eye and mozzarella.

Spicy Crabcake & Grilled Octopus @ Positano Coast
Other noteworthy menu options are the Pan-seared Skate in carrot and leek salad with a caper-tomato vinaigrette, and the new Crab & Zucchini Fritter appetizer with garlic aioli.
With 16 different starters, 9 side dishes and 14 entree-sized plates, Positano Coast will have something for everyone in your party. And with its family-style presentation, you’ll have no problem going out on a limb and ordering something new for the entire table.
If you’re just in the mood for drinks or are looking for a beautiful space to host your next event, well, Positano Coast has it all. Expect the Philly favorite to be busy through the summer as it opens up its indoor/ outdoor lounge space and serves up drinks from its organic cocktail and wine lists.
