Megan Coonelly’s TBD Artists @ the James Oliver Gallery

See works like this, and more, at the TBD Artists exhibit @ the James Oliver Gallery
Aspiring local artist Megan Coonelly had been contemplating the idea of creating an art show since her undergrad days at Arcadia University. The simple goal: bring together artists for peer review and select pieces that would be suitable for gallery exhibition.
Surprised by the amount of feedback and interest her concept received, Coonelly decided to launch her idea into reality. In February, TBD Artists opened at a gallery in the Loft District. The idea around the ‘To Be Determined’ aspect began as a play on words, but now embodies the show’s shifting locations and the artists’ creative backgrounds. Exhibiting virtually anything, TBD currently exists as a melting pot of art from traditional oil painting to digital photography and pottery work.
While Coonelly does not object to themes, she’s embracing the free-flowing nature of the different artists that have come to be involved with TBD. Each artist’s own individuality and passion is shown through their artwork that they bring to the show.
TBD Artists’ next exhibition will be on display at the James Oliver Gallery from May 7th (First Friday) through May 15th and will feature the collective work of 15 artists whose mediums and work include painting, photography, sculpture, weaving, upholstery and illustration.

Artwork by Sara Fioriglio
Similarity to Avatar is purely coincidental since this piece predates the film by years! Weird huh?
