Carroll is the celebrated Chef de Cuisine of the award-winning 10 Arts Bistro & Lounge at the Ritz Carlton on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts.
She is one of 18 cheftestants on the new season, all of which have competed in one of the show’s previous seven seasons. Jennifer starred on Season 6, Las Vegas, making it all the way to the final four.
Carroll is a hometown girl — she grew up in the Somerton section of Northeast Philadelphia and went to Mount St. Joe’s High School. After college, she attended the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in University City.
From there, she went on to work in the kitchens of acclaimed restaurants in San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York City. It was in New York City where she worked as sous chef at Eric Ripert’s prestigious Le Bernardin. When Ripert opened 10 Arts at the Ritz Carlton here in 2008, he hand selected Carroll to lead the new restaurant’s kitchen on a day-to-day basis.
And now she’ll be representing Philadelphia once again, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
Last year, regarding her first appearance on the show, she told us: “I’m very excited to be one of the first Philadelphia chefs on the show. I’m hoping to live up to everyone’s [Philadelphians'] standards and want to make everyone proud.”
Well, she certainly did that and then some.
The new season of Top Chef All Stars begins in December.
We’re very much looking forward to it!

Correction: She went to Mount St. Joseph’s Academy. The one listed is a school in Baltimore.
Otherwise, great article! Thanks for the update.
