Philadelphia is now in first place in the public voting among U.S. cities for the United States’ bid to host the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cups™.
Philadelphia took a commanding 9,000-vote lead, knocking Houston out of the top spot. However, plenty of time remains before FIFA makes their decision about the host country on December 2.
To that end, fans from the City of Brotherly Love have two opportunities to see national team games in October: the U.S. Women’s National Team taking on China PR on October 6 and the U.S. Men’s National Team meeting Colombia on October 12.
Both games will take place at the gorgeous new PPL Park in Chester, PA, home of the Philadelphia Union.
This is your chance to see two U.S. national teams in international matches, with the passion of the crowd providing a great taste of what it would be like to see the U.S. host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022.

I’m confused. The headline suggests the Men’s team will be playing a University in New York or perhaps a small town in South Carolina, but the body says they will be playing the South American County of Colombia. Please clarify!!!!!

Listen, I would just like to say that a correction needs to be made to the opening sentence in paragraph number 1. Philadelphia does not have “somewhat” of a commanding lead in the city bid competition. Philadelphia has a “Commanding Lead” period. Stop being so intimidated about giving the City of Philadelphia the credit and the recognition that it deserves. Stop being so adversly effected by the FACT that Phiadelphia has “GOT IT GOING ON!!”

Happy belated birthday Philadelphia!! My Love!! (smile). I’ve been wondering for quite sometime when it was. We have a fourth of July every year for America. Why not have one for Philadelphia, after all, you are just as important-maybe more. Now I “Ph”inally know when it is.
Maybe next year we’ll blow out your candles together. LOVE YA!!
Yours Truly,
Jacqueline Kim

Sorry to take up so much space. I just wanted to avoid a mix-up. I put my Happy Birthday Philadelphia message on my sight rather than Jennifer’s only in order that both of my messages would both be on one page. By the way, just for the record, Philadelphia’s birthday is on October 27,just like Jennifer said.
