Nothing sets a frightening mood better than the creepy melodic sounds of an old organ, and this Halloween the famous Wanamaker Organ and Mighty Wurlitzer Organ at Macy’s will be providing the sonic backdrop for two special events.
On Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Macy’s Grand Court, critically acclaimed concert organist Gordon Turk will be playing a Halloween-themed show, free and open to the public.
Following the show, stay for the screening of the classic silent film Phantom of the Opera, which will feature live organ accompaniment by Jim Riggs on the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, in Macy’s Greek Auditorium at 4:30 p.m.
Admission for the film is $10 and tickets will be available at the door.
