Only one month remains to experience the groundbreaking Art of the American Soldier exhibition at the National Constitution Center, concluding its run on March 31.
From the Wall Street Journal to the Los Angeles Times to USA Today, the exhibition has garnered critical acclaim since debuting at the Center on September 24, 2010.
Art of the American Soldier unveils more than 250 powerful works of art in various mediums created by American soldiers in the line of duty, drawn from the Army’s rarely seen collection of over 15,000 paintings and sketches.
The artwork, spanning from World War I to the present, captures the everyday lives of American soldiers, from deployment and camp life to the battlefield, telling their stories in a way no newsreel or photograph ever could.
Bonus: check out the special online gallery the center launched, where veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces can submit their own artwork that reflects their time of service. To date, more than 300 have been submitted.
