Peter Nero and the Philly Pops revive classic 50s pop music and the legendary Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Big Bopper with their 50s Dance Party, on stage at the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall March 2-6.
The world-renowned, Philadelphia-beloved Pops bring to life dance-inducing, finger-snapping tunes, including popular hits like “At the Hop,” “Why Do Fools Fall in Love?,” “Rockin’ Robin,” “Peggy Sue,” “That’ll Be the Day,” and “La Bamba.”
The show is especially poignant, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of Peter Nero’s recording career. A two-time Grammy Award-winning pianist, Nero leads his unrivaled Pops orchestra with virtuosity, authenticity and an inviting sense of humor.
