Philadelphia is earning kudos left and right for its status as a beer stronghold, thanks to spots like Standard Tap, Johnny Brenda's and Nodding Head. (Photo credits: top and bottom left by G. Widman for GPTMC, bottom right by R. Kennedy for GPTMC)
First, Esquire named us one of the seven best beer cities in America. Now Frommer’s, the travel authority, has included Philadelphia on its list of the 14 best cities for beer in the entire world.
Philadelphia is in the esteemed company of global beer destinations from Dublin to Munich to Amsterdam, and is also one of only three U.S. cities (the others are Portland and Milwaukee) included in the list.
The article calls out Johnny Brendas, Standard Tap, Nodding Head Brewery and Kraftwork as beer go-to’s, but you can click here for the full scoop on all the local brewing going on in Philadelphia, and here for all our beer coverage from tastings to pairing events to dinners and more.
The awesome Frommer’s recognition is right in time for Philly Beer Week, just around spring’s corner (June 3-12). Stay tuned for tons more information!
