Frommer’s Names Barbuzzo One Of The 10 Best New Urban Restaurants In The Country

In its recent roundup of the 10 Best New Urban Restaurants in the nation, travel authority Frommer’s included Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s latest Midtown Village venture Barbuzzo.

Calling the locally-sourced, Mediterranean-style restaurant one “of the hottest new restaurants to score a reservation,” Frommer’s applauds Barbuzzo for its “strict adherence to artisan-made ingredients,” delicious flatbread pizzas topped with “off-beat rustic ingredients” (think artichokes, Bartlett pears and hot pickled peppers), and generally “vibrant dishes.”

With Turney in the kitchen, and Safran behind the steering wheel, this place can do no wrong.

Hear us, Frommer’s: you’re spot on.

Veroncia says:

Was just there Monday night. I suggest that you make a reservation – it was packed but we scored a seat at the bar facing the open kitchen. What a dynamic view! Barbuzzo now has a late night menu, Sunday to Thursday, 10:30 – midnight, offering Neapolitan pizza, pasta fresca, the Barbuzzo burger and veggie board.

I dined at Barbuzzo while in Philly for a business trip based on the Frommer’s slide show and found it listed not once, but twice in the August “Best of Philly” issue. Well worth the accolades.
