Local Designer Sarah Van Aken To Debut Her Spring Collection With An Outdoor Fashion Show And Fair, May 11

On Wednesday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m., local eco-friendly clothing designer and entrepreneur Sarah Van Aken will host the SA VA Nature Worship Spring Fashion Show to debut the spring 2011 line from SA VA, her ethical line of women’s ready-to-wear apparel.
Van Aken’s second annual community fashion show and street fair will take place outside on the 1700 block of Sansom Street (by the brand’s Center City flagship store at 1700 Sansom Street), and includes a 30-look runway show using the middle of the street as the catwalk, surrounded by vending tables from sponsors.
A raffle will also be held to benefit women’s charity organization The Career Wardrobe, in which attendees will be able to enter to win one of seven enviable prizes including a year’s supply of VitaminWater, gift certificates to Center City restaurants or a two night stay at Hotel Palomar.
Support local shopping (sustainable to boot!) and the arrival of spring.
