An enhanced Chestnut Park on the 1700 block of Chestnut Street has officially reopened after a year of construction, with renovations including new lighting to highlight the park’s native vegetation, a refurbished fountain, and the cleaning and restoration of the beautiful sculptural Christopher T. Ray gates.
Now, beginning this Monday, June 6, an earth friendly, fully-equipped rolling café called Bike Caffe will be on site daily, serving hot and cold coffee and tea beverages, plus fruit smoothies, along with pastries, bagels, muffins and fresh baked cookies.
The park is the perfect quiet refuge for spring and summer, sheltered by native trees including redbud, dogwood, sugar maple, hickory, spicebush and American holly. Now you can grab a snack as well as take in an intimate-scale concert every Wednesday and Friday, between noon and 1:30 p.m., through the spring and summer until October 28.
Click here to download a coupon (PDF) for one hot or cold drink plus one pastry of your choice, valid June 6-10.
