Join the historic Wyck House in Germantown in celebrating local food at the free Wyck Community Food Festival, Friday, June 24, 4-7 p.m.
The festival will feature local food tastings, including food from Wyck’s own Home Farm, cooking demonstrations, Riverside bluegrass band, children’s activities and much more.
Organizations making an appearance include Whole Foods Market, Grid Magazine, The Food Trust, Historic Germantown, Slow Food, Fair Food, The Historical Society of Pennsylvania and Capogiro Gelato.
The history of Wyck House is as colorful as its gardens. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, Wyck was a peaceful 50 acre farmstead that was settled by Quakers. Now you can savor history — literally — through samplings of heirloom vegetables and fruits, plus historic recipes prepared for modern day consumers.
Please your palate and support urban farming at this delicious event.
