Bon Appetit Names Talula’s Garden One Of The Best New Restaurants In The Entire Country In 2011

That most first-rate of culinary publications, Bon Appetit, included Stephen Starr and Aimee Olexy’s Talula’s Garden on its recent roundup of The Best New Restaurants in America in 2011.

It’s an incredibly impressive accolade given the pool of potential winners: new restaurants around the entire country.

The writer points to “ultra-fresh ingredients in flavorful, straightforward dishes” as reasons for the restaurant clinching its spot on the list. Even more flattering, this quote:

“If I made a list of my top-ten dishes of 2011, three would come from Olexy’s new big-city spot: braised rabbit with handkerchief pasta, soft-shell crab with spicy fennel pickle, and, above all else, golden potato gnocchi with succotash and lemon-brown butter.”

Despite the recent chef shakeup at Talula’s Garden, obviously something over there is going very, very right.

So does thus underscore Laban’s good, not great outlook/review on Talulas Garden?
