Latin Farmer Gourmet Food Truck Makes Its Love Park Debut Today, 11 A.M.-3 P.M. Dishing Up Healthy, Locally Sourced Latin Street Fare

Summer is food truck season, with the alfresco dining-friendly warm weather plus street fare-celebratory events like the Philadelphia Vendys and the Night Market.

As a matter of fact, last week’s Mt. Airy edition of the Night Market was where Latin Farmer, a new gourmet food truck, made its debut.

If you weren’t lucky enough to sample the truck’s offerings, you’re in luck: Latin Farmer rolls into food truck mecca Love Park today from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and every Wednesday and Friday hereafter.

Latin Farmer, working with healthy-eating advocate The Food Trust to prioritize health-conscious and locally sourced fare, dishes up a fusion of cuisines from Puerto Rico (where owner Wilfredo Manzano was born), Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Peru and more.

Expect plates like choripan, a cubano-like sandwich fixed with chorizo, homemade mustard and banana ketchup; veggie and skirt collard wraps stuffed with mofongo and chimichurri; plantain chips with avocado hummus on the side; and (virgin) mojitos.

The truck is also sustainably operated, using biodegradable and compostable supplies. And soon you’ll even be able to order online in advance. No lines? A food truck patron’s dream.

Buen provecho!
