Now Open: The Twisted Tail, A Bi-Level Restaurant And Live Music Venue In Headhouse Square

Get ready to catch a band, a bourbon and a bite at South Street Headhouse District’s latest addition this summer.

Pizzeria Stella, Xochitl and Dark Horse Pub officially have a new neighbor: The Twisted Tail, a bi-level bar, restaurant and live music venue.

Featuring an authentic charcoal-fired grill shipped from Texas, a wealth of whiskey selections and a Southern music hall vibe, The Twisted Tail is open seven days a week from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.

The venue brings the synergy of great music and great food from cities like Nashville and Memphis to Philadelphia, hosting blues and rock-n-roll bands five nights a week. The Wednesday night house band will also host an informal Sunday Night Jam, when local musicians are invited to bring instruments for laid-back performances.

As far as the all-important menu, highlights will include ribs, grilled oysters, kettle chip-crusted crab cakes, black cod and vegetable shepherd’s pie. And in addition to a dizzying assortment assortment of bourbons, the beverage program will feature house-crafted cocktails, 16 draught and 40 bottled craft beers (both local and domestic) as well as uncommon wines by the glass.

You can make reservations online.
