“Tap Team Two” Hoofers To Perform At The Starlight Ballroom, October 8

This Saturday, October 8, Robert Burden and his Tap Team Two dance company will bring hoofing, the old form of percussive dance, to Philadelphia’s Starlight Ballroom.
Tap Team Two, a group of eight performers, takes street tap, better known as hoofing, back to Philadelphia’s roots. The city birthed such local legends as The Nicholas Brothers, The Condos Brothers, Baby Edwards, Honi Coles and LaVaughn Robinson.
Tap Team Two dance company is led by Robert Burden, whose skills have taken him to Turkey, Taiwan, the Czech Republic and Germany. He was also a “fly squad” member of Riverdance.
Hoofers’ art form evolved from the roots of Irish clogging, African dance, street and social dances. Tap’s exciting rhythmic sounds have kept crowds are on their feet for decades, and this Saturday will be no different. Feel free to, you know, tap your feet.
Bonus: there will be a dance party afterwards, with music by DJ A Squared.
Tickets are available in advance (for $5 cheaper) online.
