The Rosenbach Museum Presents Dracula Festival, A Month Of Events Inspired By Bram Stoker’s Classic Novel And The Iconic Figure

Every October, the Rosenbach — home of Bram Stoker’s original research notes and outlines for Dracula — brings you another chilling Dracula Festival.

Before Stephan and Damon, Edward, Angel and even Lestat, there was Dracula: the original bloodsucking lothario.
To celebrate the man, the myth, the vampire, the Rosenbach Museum and Library, home to Bram Stoker’s original research notes and outlines for Dracula, presents the 9th Annual Dracula Festival.
The Rosenbach will celebrate all things Dracula starting on October 12, and culminating on October 29 with the free event Dracula D.I.Y.
There you can create your own Dracula-inspired crafts with local Steampunk artists, read aloud from Stoker’s infamous tale, attend a talk on the Rosenbach’s collection of Dracula notes and related collections, or have your image captured in the Dracula-themed photo booth. As you can imagine, costumes are encouraged.
Other events include a one-man performance of Stoker’s Dracula by Josh Hitchens (also performed at this year’s Philly Fringe), and a reading and book signing by Leslie Klinger, author of In the Shadow of Dracula, a collection of vampire stories informed by Stoker’s work.
The museum will also be exhibiting Dracula and Friends, featuring a selection of Stoker’s research notes as well as other literature about the supernatural from the Rosenbach’s collections.
