The 2012 Winter Classic is rapidly approaching on January 2 and there have been many developments since we first told you it was happening.

Here’s the latest scoop:

Jerseys: Last week, the Flyers officially unveiled their special edition Winter Classic jerseys, which they will be wearing on the ice during game.

24/7 on HBO: Meanwhile, HBO is adding to the Winter Classic excitement with the return of its popular 24/7 series, which will take an in-depth, behind the scenes look at the Flyers and Rangers, their fans and all of the hype surrounding the main event.

Check out the Episode One preview above and watch the official premiere on December 14 at 10 p.m. on HBO.

Alumni Game: The Winter Classic is part of an entire week of action at Citizens Bank Park, including the highly anticipated Alumni Game between former Flyers greats and former New York Rangers players on December 31. The official rosters were recently released and include big names like Bob Clarke, Bill Barber and other members of the 1975 championship team who will team up with former Flyers stars Mark Recchi, Erik Lindros, John LeClair, Jeremy Roenick and many others.
