The results are in.

Travel + Leisure’s “America’s Favorite Cities” poll is featured in the November issue of the magazine, and Philadelphia stacks up very, very well.

First off, Philly comes in at #1 for overall culture.

That means our theaters, our museums, our art galleries, our dance companies, our musical ensembles outpace those of every single other city in the country.

In fact, Philadelphia also made its way to the very top of the historical sites/monuments list, breaking Washington D.C.’s four-year #1 streak. Take that, Washington Monument.

And that’s not all.

Voted by visitors, Philly ranked #1 on the sports-crazed list (that was kind of a given), #2 for classical music (go Philadelphia Orchestra!), #2 for street food, #2 for hamburgers, #3 for overall food/drink/restaurants, #4 for microbrew, #4 for pizza, #5 for theaters/performance art, #5 for museums/galleries and #5 for overall shopping.

Phew. Did you get all that?

As Mayor Nutter said of the results, “I’d also like to encourage Philadelphians to go out and appreciate the world-class cultural assets such as the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Orchestra, history, theaters, music venues and other creative institutions offering events everyday.”
