The 4th Annual Narberth Dickens Festival Transforms The Town Into 1840s London On December 10: Victorian Top Hat Contest, Hot Toddies, Carriage Rides, Gypsy Fortune Tellers And Much More

This is a big moment for iconic English author Charles Dickens.

Not only is it the time of year that families around the world revisit and rejoice in his yuletide classic “A Christmas Carol,” but we are also approaching his 200th birthday. And in honor of that milestone, the Free Library (home to one of the largest Dickens collections outside of England) is celebrating with a year’s worth of events.

Moreover, on Saturday, December 10, from noon-4 p.m., the Narberth community is holding its 4th annual Dickens Festival.

This free, family-friendly event will feature all kinds of Dickensian activities such as live street performances by costumed characters (think Ebeneezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit), horse and carriage rides, a scavenger hunt, Victorian carolers, period vendors and street food, hands-on crafts for kids, puppet shows, Nutcracker performances, a free showing of “Muppet Christmas Carol” and much more.

This has become a “can’t miss” Main Line holiday event.

Dickens fans will surely consider all this merriment a fitting Christmas present for “Christmas present”!

will says:

My favorite part of the festival is that each bar in Narberth does a different take on a hot toddy that is included with the purchase of a commemorative mug.
