Santa To Lead The Independence Seaport Museum’s Parade Of Lights Down The Delaware River, Saturday, December 17

Penn’s Landing is one of Philadelphia’s shining star destinations during the spring and summer, but its holiday season draw is about to get much brighter.
On Saturday, December 17, the Independence Seaport Museum will offer the most spectacular view of the 2nd Annual Seaport Parade of Lights from the second floor balcony (although you can view it anywhere along Penn’s Landing).
This maritime event will be fun for the whole family. There will be free refreshments, and holiday music sung by a choir.
Santa will be visiting the museum from 3:30–4:30 p.m., prior to the parade. Children will have a chance to pose for a picture with Santa and get their last minute gift requests in before old Chris Kringle hops on his historic 1902 tugboat, Jupiter, to lead the parade down the Delaware (sorry, Rudolph!).
The Parade of Lights will feature commercial, private and first responder vessels all lit up for the holidays. Organizers anticipate 20 different ships will be participating in the parade including tugs, fire boats, vessels from the coast guard, police and army Corps of Engineers as well as the Ben Franklin, a charter yacht which docks nearby.
