Act II Playhouse Presents Let’s Pretend We’re Married, A Cabaret-Style Comedy On Stage Through January 22

“Charming” is the perfect word to describe Act II Playhouse’s latest production, Let’s Pretend We’re Married, running through January 22.

A delightful cabaret-style musical comedy, Let’s Pretend We’re Married is a celebration of the world’s greatest and most complicated institution.

During the 70-minute production, starts Braithwaite and Childs sing a medley of songs written by such esteemed composers as Gershwin, Berlin and Sondheim, and perform sketches impersonating comedy’s most famous couples such as Burns and Allen and Lucy and Desi.

The show is interspersed with “Interesting Marriage Facts,” stated by Owen Robbins, the pianist who accompanies Braithwaite and Childs throughout.

A hilarious twist: one lucky couple can renew their marriage vows — Braithwaite is officially ordained through the Universal Life Church online ministry — in a ceremony with a choice of themes, Hawaiian or Vegas-style. Additionally, two other couples have the opportunity to play an updated version of “The Newlywed Game.”

You can get tickets online.
