The 2012 James Beard Award Semifinalists have officially been announced, and Philadelphia is representing in a big way.
Tashan, The Farm and Fisherman and Zeppoli are all in the running for Best New Restaurant.
We have four nominees for Best Chef Midatlantic: Pierre Calmels of Bibou; David Gilberg of Koo Zee Doo; Konstantinos Pitsillides of Kanella and Marcie Turney of Barbuzzo.
We also have two nominations for Rising Star Chef: Le Virtu’s Joe Cicala and Fond’s Lee Styer. Jessie Prawlucki (pastry chef at Fond and her newly opened Belle Cakery) is up for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Well done, East Passyunk!
