Today we’re launching a brand new video series called “Uwishunu’s Philly 101,” featuring 101 videos about Philadelphia posted in 101 consecutive days.
Each video features a different Philadelphian, from top chefs, boutique owners and actors to hotel doormen, brewers and musicians, sharing their tie to the city and what they wish more people knew about Philadelphia.
Philly 101 playfully turns “Youwishyouknew” into “Iwishyouknew.” And the answers are pretty awesome.
Check out the teaser video above for a sneak peek of what to expect from the series. Some of the faces you might recognize in the teaser include Chef Erin O’Shea of Percy Street Barbecue, Chef Kevin Sbraga of Top Chef and Sbraga, Black Thought of The Roots and Mayor Michael Nutter.
You can play along too: be sure to let us know what you wish more people knew about Philadelphia in the comments below, on Twitter or Facebook.
And stay tuned: we’ll be doing a few promotions during the run of the video series, so be sure to check back here every day for the next 101 days to follow along and watch as we post one video a day.

I wish more people knew about Frankford. It’s a small community, but rich in history and culture, and has had a significant Black population for centuries (I can count back 5 generations of family into the mid 1800s and to my 205 year-old A.M.E. church in the neighborhood).
Where to get a good Maryland hard-shell crab, emphasis on the good.
I wish more people knew about the national Energy Efficient Buildings Hub that is located at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. It’s work will help create jobs and stimulate investment and brand the region as “Retrofit Valley”.
