March Madness is heating up in Philadelphia!
Tonight, the Temple Owls will make their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance as they face South Florida in their “Round of 64″ match-up.
Temple enters the game as a #5-seed and South Florida, who won their first-round game on Wednesday night, enters as a twelve-seed. The Owls will have a very tough opponent on their hands tonight, making the game one of the most anticipated contests of the evening.
After a very successful regular season, Temple is hoping to improve on last year’s solid tournament effort, which saw them finish a few overtime points shy of the Sweet 16.
The game will be nationally televised on TNT at 9:50 p.m. and if when the Owls win, they will play on Sunday for a chance to achieve that Sweet 16 appearance that eluded them in 2011.
While Temple hopes to be playing basketball on Sunday, another city school will definitely be in postseason action that day. Drexel, who won their first round NIT game over Central Florida, will take on Northern Iowa at 11 a.m. on the Dragons’ home court. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

That was an impressive upset for South Florida. Especially considering the slow start. Time for the Temple team to his the offseason basketball workouts hard, and hopefully make a deeper run next season.
