De Pueblo A Pueblo (From Town To Town), A Citywide Celebration Of Mexican Culture, Kicks Off April 27

“De Pueblo a Pueblo” (From Town to Town), a citywide celebration of Mexican culture, kicks off this Friday, April 27.
The eight-week festival runs through June 17, honoring Philadelphia’s growing Mexican community.
The celebration includes performances, tours, lectures, film screenings, craft activities and art shows. The event kicks off at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens with photographer Laurence Salzmann’s exhibition Echele Ganas: A Life Left Behind, a collection featuring images of the people of La Sierra del Norte, a rural village in Puebla, Mexico.
The exhibit will serve as the geographic and visual hub of De Pueblo a Pueblo.
During “De Pueblo a Pueblo” more than 25 groups are providing more than 40 opportunities to learn more about Mexican culture through hands-on activities, traditional foods, crafts and folk art, and discussions about immigration.
