Renegade Theatre Company Presents Heiner Müller’s Hamletmachine And Medeaplays, A Dual Production Opening April 25

Renegade Theatre Company is one of Philadelphia’s youngest production companies but producing inarguably impressive work.
The company’s fourth production, a dual presentation of Heiner Müller’s Hamletmachine and Medeaplays, opens April 25 and runs through May 5.
Written during the height of the Cold War, the two plays deconstruct the stories of Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Euripides’ Medea in a post-modern fashion. They collectively assess the state of Germany, alluding to the constant threat of nuclear annihilation.
The show is inspired by industrial music groups, making for an atmospheric approach to theater.
