The 2012 Fishtown Shadfest Set For Saturday, April 28: A Full Day Of Music, Crafts, Food And The Kenzinger Challenge Run

Head to Penn Treaty Park for the annual Fishtown Shadfest on Saturday, April 28 from noon-6 p.m. The festival celebrates the historical and environmental significance of Fishtown, one of Philadelphia’s oldest riverfront neighborhoods, and energizes the next generation to become involved in the future of the riverfront.

The fest also raises money for the Friends of Penn Treaty Park, a community organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty and usefulness of historic Penn Treaty Park.

The day will be filled with numerous activities such as live music, local arts and crafts vendors, environment education kiosks, activities for kids, food and much more.

Back by popular demand is the the Kenzinger Challenge Run, a three-mile non-competitive, point–to-point scavenger hunt highlighting Fishtown’s and Kensington’s breweries and taverns. sing a map and questionnaire, runners go to various points collecting historical info and performing various activities including a Beer Boot Camp at Philadelphia Brewing Company.

The run begins at noon; online registration (through April 27) is $20 + a $2 fee ($1 of which TicketLeap will be donating back to Friends of Penn Treaty Park). On-site registration (day of) is $25 and will open at 11 a.m. Check-in is at the Shadfest Info Tent at the front of the park.

The first 100 participants will receive a T-shirt. The rain date is April 29.
